From Pizza to Plants
For 22 years, I was a student-athlete with a horrible diet!! I was an extremely picky eater and so everything I ate was highly processed and full of fat and sugar. My competitive soccer career helped keep my weight and health in check, but in High School, I started gaining weight, especially in my midsection which made me insecure about my body. I struggled with never feeling pretty enough or skinny enough.
After my D1 collegiate soccer career at Marquette University ended, my poor diet really took its toll. I saw a number on the scale I thought I'd never see, and it terrified me! I knew I needed to change my diet and workout again consistently in order to lose weight and become lean – what I desperately wanted!
So I tried all sorts of diets, supplements, and spent several hours each week doing high intensity workouts that I dreaded in order to lose the fat on my body I hated and was embarrassed of. BUT nothing worked, and I was absolutely miserable…
Until I learned how to actually properly nourish with whole plant-based foods, cross train with a strong emphasis on strength training, and found my true identity and worth in Christ!
I immediately lost weight and never felt better physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
My life radically changed, and I became a nutrition and fitness fanatic!
A couple years later, while I was on an 11-month mission trip to 11 different countries, I felt God calling me to leave behind my marketing career for good to help other women become physically and spiritually healthy – the key to living fully and abundantly!
I then became a certified personal trainer, earned a plant-based nutrition certification, and started Cross Training Women! My goal is to help hundreds if not thousands of Christian women radically transform their life and their family's lives in the same way that I have mine!
We need healthy Christian women from the inside out so that they can best carry out their god-given purpose and advance God's kingdom here on earth!
